i'm so pleasantly surprised to find that one of my jewelry pieces (and one of my most intricate/consuming pieces to date!) has received a DD, thanks to 
suggesting it!
this sterling silver & copper brooch was entirely handmade by me, including the brooch pin on the back (no pics right now, oops), as a collaborative effort between lindsay vandemaker and i. we worked back and forth together on multiple design ideas, refining the other's work as we went to create a design i then was able to reproduce in metal.
this brooch consists of 19 separate, tiny pieces that i very meticulously hand-sawed and soldered together. the flowers and cheek dot are three-dimensional, and the pendant measures about 2x2".

soooo like 8 months ago i tentatively said i'd be coming back, and then promptly lost internet service for many months and stopped drawing/using the computer for a long time. but i've got the drawing itch again, and internet, so helloooo here i am to give this another shot. :')
i'm gonna start by uploading some of my old works (good stuff within the last ~5 years) and then what i've done recently, a few things a day until i have it all up. hopefully i can commit to this slow but steady stream and flesh out my gallery again!
i miss a lot of things about da/the community/all my old friends here but damn i am resistant to having an internet presence. but, i want to start taking commissions and doing trades again, because i miss art and the way being part of an artist community used to push me to do better work. i don't draw nearly as much as i should anymore, since jewelry making/metalsmithing has taken up most of my creative time for the past four years, and now i don't have a space for a jewelry studio anymore so i crochet obsessively and want to also take this time to get back in practice with drawing.

hello lovelies <3
i am leaving tonight (...this morning) for shanghai. i will be in china (we are also visiting xi'an, jingdezhen, and beijing) for two weeks. i am going with 12 other students and our art professors on this trip mainly to study ceramics in the porcelain capital (jingdezhen) at the pottery workshop institute, kind of as a very short residency. if something is very important, i may be able to reply to emails, so direct any correspondence to amyynoelle (at) gmail (dot) com.

hahah oops that title
so i'm needing a photo for a project i'm doing. i don't have a dog or access to any dogs in the coming week, and the project is due at the end of the week.
in exchange for the most usable photo, i'll draw u something!!!!!
what i'm looking for:
-shot on white or a light background, nothing in the background. i need to be able to very cleanly isolate the dog so starting with a white background is really great.
-medium/large dog. no teeny paws or dainty legs!
-bright but not overexposed
-taken from the floor/ground level, of the dog's paws + legs.
-preferably taken from behind, like the dog is walking away from the viewer (all feet on the floor though). like, you can see one back leg/paw close, and then the two front ones.
-clear, sharp, large photos
BONUS POINTS LOL
-the dog is lightish colored
-you can take some red food coloring and smear a touch on the dog's leg or side somewhere, like it's blood. not too much.
-lol
-extra photos are very welcome
it's not going to be used for anything aside from this project and i'll credit you to my professor, and show you the finished thing.
